Schnoodle is a hybrid dog developed by crossing a Schnauzer with a Poodle. There is extreme variations in size for this crossbred since both parents come in three size varieties. Poodles may be toy, miniature, or standard while Schnauzers may be Miniature, Standard, or Giant. Therefore, depending on the size of the parents, Schnoodles may be toy, miniature, or standard weighing between 5 to 75 pounds( 2.3 to 34 kg). Schnoodles are popular for their loyalty, low-allergen coat, and high intelligence. Among the three Schnoodles varieties, Miniature Schnoodles are the most popular.
Aussiedoodle is a hybrid or designer dog deliberately created in the 90s by crossing an Australian Shepherd with a toy, miniature, or standard Poodle. Depending on the size of the Poodle parent, Aussiedoodles come in three size varieties; toy, miniature, and standard. Crossbreeds may tend toward traits of one parent breed than the other. Although, it is difficult to make accurate predictions of the appearance of individual dogs. Most Aussiedoodles are athletic, playful, intelligent, loyal, and eager to please. This is the most diverse of all Poodle crosses due to the numerous coat colors and texture variations due to the merle qualities from the Australian Shepherd and range of solid colors from the Poodle.
Bernedoodle is a hybrid dog deliberately developed in 2003 by crossing a Bernese Mountain Dog with a toy, miniature, or standard Poodle. Depending on the size of the Poodle parent, Bernedoodles may be tiny-sized, miniature, or standard-sized. They make great companion dogs since they inherit a goofy, charming, and easygoing personality from the Bernese parent and the intelligence from the Poodle parent. This is a crossbreed that may closely resemble one parent than the other. However, it is difficult to make accurate predictions of the looks of individual dogs.
A Sheepadoodle is a hybrid dog that was created by crossing an Old English Sheepdog with a Standard, Miniature, or Toy-sized Poodle. Depending on the size of the Poodle parent, Sheepadoodles may be Standard, Miniature, or Toy-sized. However, Standard Sheepadoodles are far more common. This crossbreed gained popularity in the 80s' since they could be tolerated well among allergy sufferers.
Old English Sheepdog( affectionately referred to as OES) is a large dog breed that was developed in England from the early herding dog types. Traditionally, this dog had its tail docked earning the nickname Bobtail. Most likely the tails were docked to evade taxes since this was a working breed that drove cattle to the market. Currently, tail docking has been banned in several countries.
Borzoi is a large-sized sighthound type of dog from Russia. It was developed for hunting wolves, hare, and fox. Until 1936, Borzois were referred to as Russian Wolfhounds. These dogs resemble some Asian breeds such as Saluki, Afghan Hound, and Kyrgyz Taigan. A Borzoi is intelligent, sensible, and a quiet breed. However, it is also strong-willed and independent. For this reason, they are not quite so eager to please or accept cues from their owners.
A Boerboel ( also known as South African Mastiff or Boerboel dog) is a mastiff-type of dog originally developed in South Africa as a family guard dog. It is a protective family companion that adore children. However, Boerboels can be quite territorial and with improper socialization, they may manifest aggressive behaviors towards other dogs and strangers. This breed does not back off if threatened. If bred and socialized properly, a Boerboel tends to have a calm and docile temperament. Although, this dog is not recommended for a novice owner due to its tendency to push boundaries.
Dutch Shepherd is a medium-sized herding dog breed from Netherlands developed as an all-purpose farm dog. It is a highly intelligent and trainable dog that is currently used for police work, guide for the blind, and search & rescue work. Dutch Shepherds may either have a smooth, long-haired, or rough-haired coat. This is a rare Shepherd Dog as compared to German Shepherds and Belgian Shepherds. However, it is relatively healthy as compared to other Shepherds.
English Setter is a medium-sized setter gundog breed from England. It is popular for its belton coat which features flecks of color varieties. English Setters are people-oriented and energetic dogs suitable for families that give them activity and attention. These dogs need at least 2 hours of exercise in a day. Although, English setters tend to have low energy levels while in the house.
Staffordshire Bull Terrier ( affectionately referred to as Staffy, Stafford, or Stafford Terrier) is a small to medium-sized pure bred dog in the Terrier group from the United Kingdom. Staffy was descended from the 19th century bull and terriers( created by crossing bulldogs and terriers). It is closely related to the modern Bull Terrier even though the two breeds don't resemble each other and were developed along independent lines.
