Huskydoodle or Siberian Poodle Mix is a dog bred between a Siberian Husky and a poodle. They have many names including Husky Poodle mix, Huskypoo, Hoodle, Husky Doodle, Siberpoo, poosky, and Siberian Huskypoo. There are two types of Huskypoo depending on whether the Siberian Husky was bred with a standard or mini Poodle. Breeders bred the Siberian Husky and a Poodle to get a dog with the Husky looks and low shedding properties suitable for allergic people.
In addition, Huskypoos are loving, friendly, and energetic dogs that are good with older kids. Moreover, this breed is a designer dog and can be traced back to the 1980s when breeders began breeding designer dogs. Due to their hypoallergenic properties, they tend to drool less and produce less dander which is considered friendly for allergic people. Huskypoo also suffers from separation anxiety when left alone for many hours and can become destructive like chewing on things around the house and scratching the floor.

This breed is not recommendable to senior people due to its energetic nature. Huskypoo needs at least 60 minutes of exercise every day for their mental and general health well-being. They also act as watchdogs since they are very alert and loyal.
Huskydoodle Origin | History
Huskypoo can be traced back to the late 1990s when it began to gain popularity in North America after breeders started making designer dogs in the 1980s. They are also hybrid dogs attained by breeding a Siberian Husky and a Poodle. Poodles were derived from Germany where they were popularly known as duck-hunting dogs and later became popular in France. A poodle is considered a national dog in France and is mostly kept for companion purposes. A Siberian Husky originated in northeastern Asia where their ancestors were initially bred by the Chukchi people.

A Huskypoo can live between 10 – 14 years whereas its parents Siberian Husky and poodle can live between 11 – 15 years.
Huskydoodle Grooming
Huskypoo sheds less hence they need brushing twice a week using a wire brush with plastic tips for those with poodle-like coats to remove excess hair and to avoid tangling and matting. Grooming gloves are also recommended when brushing the dog’s face and legs. Check for any signs of allergies while brushing since this breed is quite prone to allergies. Wash your Huskypoo once every six to eight weeks using a suitable canine shampoo and oil-based conditioner and rinse it well until the water runs clean to prevent skin irritation.

Brush your Huskypoo at least three times a week using the right dog-formulated toothbrush and toothpaste to prevent tartar from accumulating and remove plaque. However, they will need frequent haircuts throughout the year due to their growing hair and for easy grooming.

Some Huskypoos have shedding qualities like their Poodle parent and tend to shed less while others have shedding qualities like the Siberian Husky. Huskydoodle Exercise

Although they also serve as watchdogs, Huskypoo does not back a lot but makes other sounds such as howling and growling to catch their owner’s attention. Moreover, they can be a bit noisy since a Husky is known for its talkativeness, and Poodles for barking quite a lot.
