Catahoula Leopard Dog is a medium to large-sized herding and hunting breed from the United States. It is also known as Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, Catahoula hog dog, Catahoula Cur, or simply Catahoula. Most Catahoulas have a leopard-like coat due to the merle gene hence its name. These dogs have a natural herding instinct and a unique way of working a herd which is the utmost importance than the appearance of the dog.

Treeing Walker Coonhound(or Treeing Walker for short) is a medium-to-large sized Coonhound from the United States. Like other coonhounds( Bluetick Coonhood, Redbone Coonhound, and Plott Hound), Treeing Walkers are highly vocal breeds. They are known for vocalizing in different ways to communicate while on the hunt. A Treeing Walker makes a bugle-like sound while tracking to help the hunter or owner to easily follow him. After trapping the prey in a tree, the dog switches to a short choppy bark. Treeing Walkers are hot-nosed dogs that will quickly abandon an older scent trail for a fresher one. These dogs may hunt by themselves or in a pack.
Bluetick Coonhound is a medium-to-large sized coonhound dog breed from the United States. It is popular for its deep bawl mouth, friendly personality, and a cold nose that is able to trail a scent that is a week old. This makes them suitable for scent as well as search-and-rescue-work. Although, a Bluetick Coonhound's nose can get it in trouble. Therefore, garbage and food should never be left unattended.
Saluki( also known as Persian Greyhound) is a sighthound that was originally bred in the Fertile Crescent. It is closely related to the Afghanhound. As a sighthound, a Saluki hunts by sight rather than scent. This breed may either have a smooth or feathered coat. The latter has light featherings on the ears, thighs, back of the legs, and sometimes the throat. The fur on both coat varieties is silky and low-shedding as compared to other breeds.
Brussels Griffon is a toy-sized dog breed from Brussels, Belgium. In the USA, there are two types of Brussels, Petit Brabançon( smooth-coated) and Brussels Griffon ( rough-coated). However, in Belgium there are three varieties, Griffon Belge, Petit Brabançon, and Brussels Griffon. The term Brussels Griffon or Griffon Bruxello may refer to the three breeds. The smooth-coated variety( Petit Brabançon) looks like a Pug.
Norwegian Elkhound is a medium-sized Northern Spitz-type of breed dog from Norway. It was bred for tracking and hunting large games like bear, wolves, and elk(moose). The name of this breed is a misnomer. Norwegian Elkhounds are Spitz breed and not hound dogs. The name was derived as a mistranslation from its original Norwegian name Norsk elghund meaning Norwegian moose dog.
German Wirehaired Pointer ( nicknamed GWP dog or Wirehair) is a medium-to large-sized griffon dog breed from Germany. It was developed as a versatile hunter in the 19th century. The name of this breed is the English translation of its German name, Deutsch-Drahthaar. German Wirehaired Pointers are a bit taller and heavier than their cousins, German Shorthaired Pointers. This breed has a distinct wiry, harsh, quite flat-lying, and weather resistant coat.
