Yorkshire Terrier also nicknamed Yorkie is a playful and energetic dog developed in the 19th century. It has been used in the development of other breeds such as the Silky Terrier. A Yorkie is one of the smallest dog breeds of the terrier type. When left alone, this breed often exhibits separation anxiety which is the reason that some dog owners keep two dogs. Yorkies are easy-going dogs and are great with older adults and children.

Shih Tzu is a sturdy toy dog breed originally from Tibet. This breed has an ever-growing coat that should be brushed regularly. The dog is popular for its playful and fun personality. It also adapts well to different situations. However, Shih Tzus are not considered the most obedient breed due to their highly independent nature. One of the required standard features for this breed is an underbite. This dog also makes a great pet for a dog owner residing in an apartment or who doesn't have a big backyard.

Chihuahua is among the smallest breed of dogs that originated from Mexico. It is named after a state in Mexico, Chihuahua. This breed was first registered by AKC in 1904. The Chihuahua Club of America was created to develop a community of dog breeders in 1923 and further the breed in the US. Ch. Attas’ Gretchen won the first-all breed Best in Show in 1951.

Rottweiler(also nicknamed Rottie) is a domestic dog that is considered one of the oldest dog breeds dating back to Roman times. It is regarded as large or medium-to-large. This dog was initially used for herding cattle or driving dogs. Rottweiler originated from the mastiffs of the Roman legions and acquired its name from the old free city of Rottweil.

Beagle is a breed of dog originally from England that hunts by scent rather than sight. It was developed for hunting hare referred to as beagling. This breed has a great sense of smell and superior tracking instincts and therefore, they are used in detecting prohibited foodstuffs and agricultural imports around the world.

Pit Bull(also Pitbull) is a term used to describe the types of dog that originated from the British Bull and terrier, an 1800 dog-fighting type developed from crossbreeding the now-extinct Old English Bulldog and the Old English Terrier. Furthermore, Pitbull is a term used in the US for a type of dog that descended from bulldogs and terriers. However, in the United Kingdom, the term is used as an abbreviation for the American Pit Bull Terrier breed.

German Shepherd Or German Shephard Dogs(GSDs) are German-bred working dogs of medium size. Initially bred as a herding dog for herding sheep, it has since been used for other purposes including warfare, police work, disability assistance, search-and-rescue, and companion dog. GSDs are naturally curious which makes them excellent guard dogs suitable for missions.

English Bulldog also known as British Bulldogs or simply bulldog is a British breed of dog of mastiff(large and powerful) type. It is wrinkled-faced, has a pushed-in nose, folded rose-shaped ears, a massive large head, medium size, and muscular. The term bulldog was first coined in 1631 or 1632 in a letter written by Preswick Eaton.

French Bulldog(also referred to as Frenchies) is a French small breed of toy or companion dog. It appeared in Paris, France in the mid-1800s and it is a crossbreed of Local Parisian ratters and Toy Bulldogs. A Frenchie is popular as a pet and it has bat ears. In 2020, this breed was the most popular registered dog in the UK. Initially, it went by the name of Bouledogue Francais before it was changed to French Bulldog in 1912.

Poodle is a breed of water dog referred to as Caniche in French and Pudel in German. This breed is among the most popular service dog breeds because of its intelligence. Poodles were ranked in the second position out of 110 breeds in intelligence by Stanley Coren in a 1994 study. It has several varieties based on size, Teacup, Toy, Miniature, Medium, and Standard Poodle.  However, the Medium Poodle is not globally recognized.
